Overview

Bushong, Christian, Almquist (BCA) is a top-selling group of real estate professionals affiliated with Sotheby’s Real Estate. BCA engaged phD to create a brand for the real estate firm that would differentiate their growing business and work within Sotheby’s brand identity guidelines. We helped BCA navigate that challenge, developing a distinctive identity that positions them favorable against other high performing realtor groups and compliments Sotheby’s existing brand.

Consistently among the firm’s top producers and with tens of millions of dollars in luxury inventory under contract, BCA required a sophisticated brand and visual system that spoke to buyers of luxury properties.

We designed a custom typeface for BCA, based on the letterforms we created for the logo. Used on personal communications such as note cards and announcements, the high-contrast type lends a bespoke quality to partner communications and reinforces BCA’s brand character.

Approach

We explored several design directions and ultimately arrived at a custom monogram. A series of high-contrast, forms comprises the logo, conveying ideas of heritage, stability and modernity. The palette follows Sotheby’s, anchored by a dark blue to communicate reliability, trust, and professionalism.

As part of our effort for BCA, we designed a full suite of materials from listing presentations and client swag, to signage and communications collateral. To further set BCA apart, we designed a custom typeface for BCA, based on the letterforms we created for the logo. Used on personal communications such as note cards and announcements, the high-contrast type lends a bespoke quality to client and partner communications.
